Paris in the Spring | Travel Photography
by besa photography
In May, I had the chance to take my dream trip to France where I spent an entire week exploring Paris and then spent a few days exploring the countryside in the beautiful Cote d’Or region of Burgundy (photos from my time in Burgundy will coming up soon). Walking the entire city, my Mom and I got to see so many beautiful places and taste so much delicious food. My obsession with all things French started as a very young girl (elementary school) and all I have ever wanted to do since then is to be in Paris. The city certainly did not disappoint.
Paris is the stuff of daydreams really and I love reliving that dream as I look through the photos from the trip.
I highly recommend getting up really early at least one morning and enjoying the quiet streets and parks of the city. Plus, the beautiful morning light makes everything look even more picturesque.
A last-minute decision to visit the Galeries Lafayette allowed me to have one of my favorite experiences from the whole trip. Unbeknownst to me, the Henri Cartier-Bresson exposition was on exhibit there. It was amazing and I highly recommend it!
Pont des Arts in the gorgeous morning sunlight.
Taverne Henry IV was a wonderful restaurant on Ile Saint-Louis by Pont Neuf. And the proprietor was one of the kindest people we met on our whole trip.
We totally did the touristy thing and took a cruise of the Seine River at night. It was wonderful and allowed us to see the city in a whole different way.
We spent an entire afternoon just relaxing in the Luxembourg Gardens. I could have spent all day there.
One of my favorite images is this one below of a map of Paris affixed to a bus stop near the Musee d’Orsay.
Notre Dame at night really allowed for the beautiful architecture to shine.
My mom and I standing at Point Zero near Notre Dame (image on the right).
Witnessed some early morning fashion bloggers out taking photos.
Loved the Montmartre area of Paris.
Since Fabuleux Destin d’Amelie is one of my favorite movies ever, I had to visit Au Marche de la Butte. :)
Cappuccinos and tarte de pommes at Le Cepage.
Lovely afternoon spent walking along the Canal St. Martin.
A day trip to the Chateau de Versailles. The gardens were my favorite part.
Our amazing AirBnB apartment in the 6th.

Make sure to check back for Part II where I share photos from our time in the Bourgogne.
***Photos from my time in Paris are mainly digital photos with a handful of them being taken on an iPhone. Additionally, some of the photos were taken using Fuji 400H film or Kodak Portra 400 film with a Canon EOS-3 camera.
