I was so excited when Nicole and Ryan contacted me to schedule their engagement session. You may remember them from their proposal that I was fortunate enough to get to witness and photograph about a year ago. Nicole and Ryan are such a sweet couple. And, clearly, incredibly photogenic! I loved watching the way they looked at each other in those stolen moments. It is easy to see how much they love and respect each other. What more could a photographer who loves capturing love ask for??!! Nicole and Ryan, thank you for letting me be a part of this special moment in your lives.

So over the last few weeks, as my 2014 season starts getting busier, I have been thinking about last year and all of the wonderful people I have had a chance to meet and/or continue to build friendships with while continuing on this adventure of mine. Regretting not having done a “best of 2013” post at the beginning of the year, I decided to just go ahead and do one now…only 4 months late. But better late than never, I suppose. :) It is really nice to be able to look back on the last year and see all of the wonderful things I have been lucky to be part of. Some of my favorites below.
Thank you to the amazing people that let me photograph them and their special days and life moments in 2013. And thank you to some awesome photographers who l was fortunate enough to get to work with and learn from: Julie, Victoria, Rebecca, Lauren, and Annette.
Here is to a wonderful 2013 and to new and exciting adventures in 2014!

This is Damon, Rebecca and their sweet little pup, Molly.
You might remember Rebecca…we did some headshots and portraits together last year.
She still has the best smile and laugh ever!
We all spent a gorgeous Sunday morning taking a little walk around Old Town Alexandria.
These fun photos were the result.
They are getting married in April of next year and they wanted a few photos with Molly “declaring” their wedding date.
I think she “declared” well. :)
