Spring Wedding at Stone Manor Country Club – Middletown, Maryland

My beautiful friend and her handsome husband got married on a gorgeous spring day in a very pretty and fun outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. Blending their cultures together, the wedding was a wonderful mix of Persian and Argentinian elements. With such a fun-loving and close-knit group of family and friends to celebrate with, it was easy to see why no one wanted the night to end. Thank you so much to Andrew Morrell for graciously allowing me to tag along and document some of the special moments. I loved watching Andrew work. He is such a creative talent (see more of his work here). Shahrzad and Adrian, I wish you guys all the best!!

Best of 2013

So over the last few weeks, as my 2014 season starts getting busier, I have been thinking about last year and all of the wonderful people I have had a chance to meet and/or continue to build friendships with while continuing on this adventure of mine. Regretting not having done a “best of 2013” post at the beginning of the year, I decided to just go ahead and do one now…only 4 months late. But better late than never, I suppose. :) It is really nice to be able to look back on the last year and see all of the wonderful things I have been lucky to be part of. Some of my favorites below.

Thank you to the amazing people that let me photograph them and their special days and life moments in 2013. And thank you to some awesome photographers who l was fortunate enough to get to work with and learn from: Julie, Victoria, Rebecca, Lauren, and Annette.

Jeff & Vicki: At-Home and National Gallery of Art Maternity Session

What a joy to have been able to take these special photos for Vicki and Jeff. Approximately one year ago, we did a lifestyle photo session in D.C. where we walked around some of their favorite spots. This time, their session included a little addition. :) Due to an abnormally freezing cold late-November day, we decided to do part of the session inside of their adorable D.C. row house and then part of the session inside of the beautiful East Building of the National Gallery of Art. I am so happy we decided to do both because it provided for a nice mix of photos that show the comfort, fun and creativity that defines this lovely couple. Vicki and Jeff, thank you so much for letting me be part of this special moment in your lives!

Wedding-Portrait Styled Session – Hendry House – Arlington, Virginia

These photos are from the styled wedding-portrait session I did at the Hendry House in Arlington, Virginia. Thank you so much to my lovely friend Shahrzad and her fiancé, Adrian, for being my models and for going along with my vision. :) You guys were great and I am beyond thrilled with the results. And I could never have done the session without my friend Niaz. She is a local hair stylist and she did such a fantastic job with the hair and make-up! Looking forward to collaborating with her again in the future! And looking forward to making another bouquet and floral crown too! So fun. Enjoy!
