Newton White Mansion | Summer Maryland Wedding

On a lovely summer day a couple of months ago, I got to second-shoot a wedding again with the awesome Lauren of Lauren C Photography! Lauren is so sweet and so talented and I really loved getting to work with her again!

It also didn’t hurt that the bride and groom were gorgeous, super relaxed and so expressive in their emotions. You could really see just how in love they were and it was a wonderful thing to witness.

Thank you, Lauren, for letting me get to experience this awesome wedding with you!

Best of 2013

So over the last few weeks, as my 2014 season starts getting busier, I have been thinking about last year and all of the wonderful people I have had a chance to meet and/or continue to build friendships with while continuing on this adventure of mine. Regretting not having done a “best of 2013” post at the beginning of the year, I decided to just go ahead and do one now…only 4 months late. But better late than never, I suppose. :) It is really nice to be able to look back on the last year and see all of the wonderful things I have been lucky to be part of. Some of my favorites below.

Thank you to the amazing people that let me photograph them and their special days and life moments in 2013. And thank you to some awesome photographers who l was fortunate enough to get to work with and learn from: Julie, Victoria, Rebecca, Lauren, and Annette.

Todd, Samantha and Ruby – Kinder Farm Park, Maryland

Todd and Samantha are the sweetest couple and on a lovely fall evening, we walked around Kinder Farm Park in Millersville, Maryland with their adorable pup, Ruby. We talked, laughed, told some jokes (do you have any green beer?? :)) and took some charming photos. The exciting thing about this photo session is that we took a few additional photos that would be used to announce a very special surprise. One of those special photos is at the end of this post.

Todd and Samantha, thanks for letting me spend the evening with you both. And here is to a healthy and happy “special surprise.” :)

A Pearl Party with Pearls With Purpose

A couple of weeks ago, Pearls with Purpose, a wonderful non-profit organization, held a ‘Pearl Party’ in Annapolis, Maryland. Attendees had the opportunity to purchase all sorts of handmade jewelry made with beautiful gems and pearls at this AccessoRISE event. There is something special though about the jewelry that you buy at these events (or buy from their website). According to the Pearls with Purpose Facebook page and website, when you purchase jewelry from Pearls with Purpose, you are “purchasing hand crafted genuine pearl fashion jewelry items directly from women who have been trained in the jewelry making process by Pearls with Purpose.” This results in the women who were “previous non-income earners [being able to] sustain their families.” Essentially, “Pearls with Purpose was created with the initiative to instill self-sustainability and hope in women throughout the world. By providing women in underdeveloped countries the opportunity to learn the art of jewelry making, Pearls with Purpose fosters economic self-reliance and helps families break free from the cycle of poverty.” Please visit the Pearls with Purpose website or Facebook page to learn more about the organization as well as to learn more about hosting an AccessoRISE event yourself.
